Vortex Lineup.
JUST OUT!
The Vigilon is definitely the one I wanted first, but I started small with the Proton.
The PRAXIS (9/10)
The praxis is like the recon (the basic rifle) for the new lineup. Without modification, the blaster shoots 65 feet flat or more. It shoots more than 90 feet at a 45 degree angle. The internals are ridiculously similar to the proton, so I think that the reason tne proton shoots a little better is that the barrel is shorter on the proton. The Praxis comes with a stock, a ten disc clip, ten discs, and a tactical rail for attachments. The shotgun pump is really smooth, and that makes this my favorite vortex blaster. The stock looks like a Recon stock, but is much more firm which makes for less wobble. If there are no disks left in the clip, the pump will keep going back and forth, but you will not be able to dry fire. This feature seems to be standard on all vortex blasters. Priced at $25.00.

The NITRON (6.5/10)
The Nerf Nitron is one of the most disappointing blasters in the vortex line. It may look cool, but it doesn't have performance going for it. The scope is an interesting touch, but it is completely useless, considering that it is nearly impossible to see through. The ranges are the worst in the vortex line. It gets around forty to forty-five feet on average. The extended clip is nice to have though, and works nicely with the praxis. The clip holds 20 disks. The stock is sturdy, and that is a great touch. The jam release button is located on top of it (orange). The jam release doesn't work very well, though. In the back of the stock is an extra clip holder. This definitely comes in handy in battle.
The scope takes two AAAs, and the blaster takes 6 Cs. They last a long time, which is good. The price is around $45, which is way too much. The ranges are too small for this price to be acceptable.

The Proton (7.5/10)
I just got the Nerf Proton as my first nerf Vortex. I am very surprised at the way it preforms. I Thought that the small one wouldn't live up to my expectations, but it shot 75+ feet! It came with a proton and three disks. The blaster feels sturdy and well built. To fire, pull the back ring back until it clicks into place. Put a disk inside the slide, then push down on the orange lever on either side of the blaster. You are now ready to fire. Also, the blaster will not fire without a disk inside the slide. This is a cool feature, but since the pulling the slide back cocks the spring, you really only want to pull back when you want to fire. On the top there IS a tactical rail. On the back of the slide there is a jam release button that will drop the disk right out when aimed down and pushed. The accuracy is actually very good. However, if you aim too high or angle your shot, the accuracy suffers, so keep that in mind. The price is $10 dollars, which may seem like a lot until you see how it shoots!

The Vigilon (8.5/10)
The vigilon is pretty good! It operates smoothly, holds five disks, is comfortable, and pretty good on price. Not much more to say. There is one tactical rail, and I love this blaster! This is VERY similar in operation to the Praxis.
