Nerf Reviews
As I collect more and more guns, I will continue to review more guns. My friends have some blasters, too, so I may review my friends' blasters.
The Nerf Longstrike Normal (4/10)
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/121980914.jpg)
Why take the Longshot out of stores?
We can't decide what gets into Hasbro's head; we can only buy what they offer. The Longstrike is a good close-quarters nerf battle blaster, but it doesn't succeed at the "superior long-range shooting" aspect. However, the barrel decreases range and adds clunkiness to the blaster. If you remove the barrel extension, it is actually decent in a nerf war, but it doesn't look as cool. The way to shoot "long-range is to use the flip-up sight a certain way, which, as we know, doesn't work. Another reason that the blaster is good for nerf battles is because is can hold two clips in the stock area. This (as all nerfheads know) is crucial during a conflict. Including the barrel, the longstrike has four tactical rails (if you care for those, because I only use them for aiming). Also, this blaster has a built-in iron sight. One last thing I like about the blaster is that the stock isn't wobbly like the recon of the spectre. Even though there are many positive things about the blaster, you will definitely be disappointed with its overall performance. If you go for the looks of the blasters and are not worried about performance, this is the gun for you.

The Nerf Raider
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/140673468.jpg)
Who doesn't like the Raider? You can't file any real complaints worth filing on the Raider. The blaster has both single-fire and slam-fire capabilities which will help you on the field of play. The stock that comes with the raider is adjustable and sturdy (unlike many other detachable stocks), and the stock can be used with other n-strike blasters like the recon and the barricade. The 35 dart drum only comes with this blaster, and has an irresistible rate of fire. The hand grips on the raider are arguably the most comfortable of any nerf blaster. Some complain about the jamming on this blaster. I say one of three things about this blaster: If you use it correctly, it will not jam, it is operator error, it is an I.D.10.T. error. Also, the cocking mechanism may get stuck, but this only happens when you dry-fire, so it is kind of an indicator that you are out of ammunition. Overall, the Raider is a fantastic gun and a must-get.
The Nerf Deploy
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/280000568.jpg)
The Nerf Deploy is supposed to be Nerf's stealth blaster. The flashlight on the front needs to be a bit stronger for it to actually function as a flashlight. I think the blaster has decent range; about 25 to 30 feet. The handle has a built in scope which actually works on occasion. It also has a slot for a barrel attachment, so my yellow longshot pistol looks very cool with it. Although the gun looks cool and has some cool functions, the design isn't too sturdy. the handle may shake as well as the whole frame. Considering the price of $20.00, the gun is not a bad buy. However, the spectre is a better shot, and it is roughly the same price (that is a whole other review). Also, the quick 16 is a raider for only $24.00! The Deploy is a good buy, but there are better options when it comes to functionality, sturdiness and reliability.
The Nerf Barrel Break
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/291746250.jpg)
The Barrel Break is a Toys R Us exclusive blaster from Nerf. This is a good rebound to Buzz Bee's shotgun. The range is VERY good for its size. The rail attachment that comes with it actually comes in handy with any nerf gun (I use it a lot). Also, the trigger can fire both darts, or one at a time. During a battle, this is very helpful. Although I think that the loading process takes a little more time, it is very cool. For $18.00, this is a VERY good buy and a real ball to play with.
The Nerf Element
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/821973964.jpg)
The nerf element comes with two sets: the disk game, and the action kit (which is pictured). Personally, I would get the action set so you can use all of the rail attachments. Basically, this blaster is a Nite Finder without the lazer point, but with three extra dart holders. I think the trade-off of the lazer pointer is leveled by the extra holders. This gun can be seriously modded. For example, the air constrictor is possibly the easiest to take out of any nerf gun. This is because it is the simplest (this is where the name "Element" came from). For $22.00 with the action kit, it is a good buy.
The Nerf Reflex
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/490741056.jpg)
The nerf reflex is a rather cute nerf gun with some punch for its size. There isn't much to say about the Reflex. It shoots about 25 feet with the darts that come with it. I think that the only thing that should be used on the tactical rail is the Longstrike sight which actually looks cool on it. However, the price is rather high. I got mine for $9.00. If you are looking for a small blaster that has distance, the Secret Strike AS-1 is a WAY better deal. If you are looking for a better deal on this blaster, the star wars line of nerf blasters has a reflex for captain Rex's pistol. instead of having a tactical rail, it has two hidden dart holders in the handle like the raider.
The Nerf Barricade
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/569232270.jpg)
The Nerf Barricade is nerf's first motorized semi-auto only pistol. It was an ambitious move, but was it smart? The barricade is good, but a few improvements could really boost its performance. I got mine near when it first came out; big mistake. NEVER buy a gun when it first comes out. Give Nerf some time to develop it. I learned this with the raider, too. The complaint with the early buying of this gun is that sometimes if the trigger is not be pushed down all 2 inches, the dart will jam. They might have fixed this by now. Some people are also not too fond of the "hair dryer" sound it makes, but I think it is kind of cool. Just don't use this gun for stealth missions. If used correctly, the blaster can fire as fast (if not faster) than the Stampede. I like the unusually large revolving barrel, the stock port, and the jam door. the jam door will shuts off the gun, making it safe to unjam a dart. Also, the bar for a strap is large and easy-to-use. If you have $16.00, I would consider buying this blaster.
The Nerf Nite Finder (9.10)
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/377595507.jpg)
If you don't know the nite finder, you don't know nerf. This blaster alongside the maverick have been the nerf blaster icons for I don't know how long, and for good reason. The laser is accurate to twenty feet, and ranges max out at 38 feet! The Nitefinder also comes with three suction darts. The nite finder is like the element, but is has a lazer pointer and slightly better range. it is also cheaper, so it is a better buy than the Element. The blaster feels pretty sturdy. However, don't be surprised if the laser stops working, it is a very cheap switch that they use to trigger-activate the light. This has nothing to to with the great performance, though.

The Nerf Maverick (6/10)
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/367499195.jpg)
The Nerf Maverick is a must buy! Alongside the nite finder, it has been the iconic nerf blaster for a long time. The Maverick has sold more of its model than any nerf blaster. It is great in a nerf war. It can use any dart effectively, wich is a HUGE plus. The range is excellent. There aren't many things wrong with this blaster, but if I could change something, it would be the placement of the tactical rail. It is right on the cocking mechanism!. I would move it right above the barrel where nothing moves. Other than that, this is a good blaster, and my favorite n-strike sidearm.

The Nerf Recon*
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/451564408.jpg)
Both the raider and recon are nerf's basic rifles. The recon can be customized any way you want, which is pretty cool. However, the stock doesn't serve its purpose: it bends. I think this is for shooting around corners. If you want a bad- @$$ looking recon, try the longstrike barrel, the raider stock, and the element action kit's scope. Most of these parts (although discolored) will not only increase epic looks, but will boost performance, especially the sturdy raider stock. Although the raider performs better, the recon can be customized more. This gun is slightly lighter and less clunky than the raider. This gun is relatively easy to mod, too. The recon may look hard to load with the sight on the cocking mechanism, but it is actually a very smooth cocking blaster and is fun to play with overall. This is $20.00 VERY well spent.
The Nerf Magstrike (7/10)
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/990126153.png)
The Nerf Magstrike is a very cool, but inefficient nerf blaster. The blaster shoots about 10 darts per second. Because this blaster shoots so fast, you may think that it may not have much range. However, this blaster has an average range of thirty feet, which is a very good rate. Two drawbacks to this blaster are the clips provided and its effectiveness in a nerf battle. The dart tag magstrike came with two clips each, but the new one only comes with one, making reloading a hassle. It also makes it tough to fight in a nerf battle with only one clip. The twenty pumps don't help either. The Magstrike is only good at harassing the members of your family. If you want a good, battle-worthy, and Magstrike-like blaster, I would get a Rapid-Fire AS-20 from target. For ten more bucks ($30.00), the Rapid-fire is a better buy than the only annoying magstrike.

The Nerf Unity Power System* critical update
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/361676099.jpg)
THIS GUN IS BEAST! This Nerf System comes with three guns that would normally be twenty dollars a piece. It is only worth forty dollars and is an extremely good buy. Why? The titan and hornet alone are about 45 dollars, so you get the awesome scout pistol free! The Nerf Titan (rocket launcher) shoots up to sixty feet, has an accurate sight, and the other guns can be shot through the Titan without taking them off of the it. If the Hornet (shotgun) is connected to the titan, you only need to cock it, because air will be supplied through the titan to the Hornet. The Nerf hornet is an EXCELLENT primary, and is one of my favorite guns. It has the ability to shoot six darts shotgun style or shoot them semi-auto one at a time. The only two drawbacks with the gun are the pumping/cocking combination and the darts popping out. The darts, however will not pop out if you pump all the way back and all the way forward. Finally, the scout pistol is said to be one of the coolest nerf pistols out there. The Scout can be fired from the titan, and it is said to have better range than a longshot (45 feet!!!). I have tested this to be true, shooting forty or more feet FLAT out of the box! It is the ultimate Nerf pistol. Who knows what you can do with it once it is modded! For a discount $45.00, the Unity Power System is a MUST HAVE!!!!
*The unity power system has a very large chance of having to be recalled. Unless you are feeling lucky, don't buy! EVER! I had to return mine five times, and it still didn't work. The Hornet never worked, the scout worked 3 out of 5 times. The titan worked 4 out of five times.*

The Nerf Rapid Fire 20
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/318141335.jpg)
The Nerf Rapid Fire is a Magstrike that is infinitely less annoying. Unlike the magstrike, the rapid fire has a rotating barrel, twice the darts, the same firepower and rate of fire. The Yellow dial you see on the side is a select fire. You can do single shot or full auto. The price is ten more dollars than the magstrike. This makes it a very good and affordable nerf gun.
The Nerf S.S. A.S.-1 (5/10)
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/569741113.jpg)
The Nerf Secret Strike is basically a keychain. It his twenty feet in ten pumps, which is really quite good, especially for its small size. The gun is only $2.50, which is a real steal! Not much more can be said about this one.

The Nerf Wildfire
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/256624731.jpg)
The Nerf wildfire can be very expensive these days, for it is no longer in production. The blaster comes with 20 suction darts. To the right of the logo (on the picture), there is an air gauge. There are two bandolier attachment areas. For ranges of thirty feet, pump it twenty times. If you want super fast and far range shots, pump forty-five times and watch the darts fly more than fifty feet! The blaster uses any dart (streamlines aren't as good with this blaster). The Wildfire is one of my favorite blasters out there.
The Nerf Vulcan (6.5/10)
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/850708016.jpg)
The nerf vulcan is the first electronically powered nerf gun. It comes withe the blaster, the twenty dart belt, and the detachable bipod. The blaster also takes six "d" batteries, but is a little heavier than the stampede. The blaster gets about the same range as the stamepede, and it is cheaper; $40.00. The rate of fire is slightly faster than the stampede, but it is clearly developed for turret defense. The batteries last longer/The rate of fire stays at max longer. Even if you don't have batteries, you can still fire the blaster using the bolt-action firing mechanism. Like most nerf guns, many buy them the prototype year; DON'T! I bought mine three years later and it is one of my favorite nerf guns. It has jammed ONCE. The range is GOOD, not the best, but good. Darts can stray off target, but not too noticeably, as expected with a belt dart gun. Mobility can be an issue, so I suggest taking off the stand.

The Nerf Stampede (8/10)
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/738954005.jpg?250)
The Stampede is said to be the best nerf gun ever, which I don't think is true. The gun comes with three extended 18 dart clips, one standard clip, the grip/bi-pod, the shield and the blaster itself (obviously there are darts, too.) The blaster takes six "D" batteries, and cannot be used when there are no batteries in the compartment where they are stored. The blaster gets about a thirty-five foot range, but the rate of fire is slightly slower than the vulcan. However, it jams slightly less than most clip system blasters. I have found that after the first day of use that the rate of fire drops dramaitcally. The price is typically fifty-five dollars. I am not an accessory guy, so I don't like this blaster much. I don't think that it's worth the fifty-five dollars.

Whiteout Longstrike (7/10)
A HUGE improvement from the original longstrike. Imported from asia, the whiteout version has all of the same specs as the other longstrike. There are three differences: color, spring shape, and range. The range is improved by about 5-10 feet. MUCH better than the original, since this one is actually battle worthy.

Jolt (9/10)
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/395019909.jpg)
The noisy cricket of nerf. This little blaster pricing from 5-6 dollars is the ultimate nerf pistol for its size! It you reload fast enough, it could easily be a primary. The direct plunger system helps with this. The ranges are equal to a blue longshot, the farthest-shooting normal n-strike blaster. The blaster fits relatively comfortably in your hands, too, and can easily fit in your pocket.

![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/9/6979434/192001398.jpg)
What a release this gun had! This is a great base blaster, and a good primary, when it doesn't jam. It jams A LOT. The glow in the dark clip also broke for me. Not the lights, but the spring that pushes the darts up was too loose. The engines inside rev up quickly, allowing for a little stealth. The darts included are stiff, and really shoot far. The ranges vary greatly, but ranges are usually VERY far when the motors are revved up all the way. The semi auto motors are activated by the second, smaller trigger. It must be held down in order for the primary trigger to fire.
